Stoked to announce that Phil Hamilton’s “Bad” has been in the Top 10 on Texas Radio charts the past few weeks. It’s holding at #7 where it was last week with over 1,000 spins. “Bad”, which I co-wrote with Phil, is the second single from Phil’s album Renegade Rock n Roll, which I produced earlier this year. Phil also had a Top 10 single with the 1st single of the album “You Can Have Me”. I’m looking forward to a big summer for Phil. We tracked 10 singles for his album, and they’re all headed to radio throughout the year! Can’t wait for everyone to hear them.
In January 2010, after Kirby Brown’s Child of Calamity, I began working on my second full length album with the brilliant Dovetail. Fronted by Philip Creamer’s mind-blowing voice, the band is full of writers and geniuses alike. Needless to say, this was the easiest decision ever to work with a band. Throughout the next two years, together we found Dovetail’s sound. Mount Karma represents not just the band’s journey, but also my own self-discovery of how notes, sonics, and voices fit together in my own unique way. From the most eloquent studios, to bathrooms, to recording outdoors, the album was tracked anywhere we could find solace and/or a vibe. Come take the journey to Mount Karma! The Roomsounds released their debut full length “We’re #1″ on Friday at the Prophet Bar to a packed house. It was an amazing time getting to track the boys from the Northeast. After hearing Ryan’s songwriting, and the band’s bombastic punk inspired Americana music, I couldn’t help myself but welcome them to the great state of Texas and capture their sound.
This album marked the first time I set up a full band and tracked live. Aside from a few guitar overdubs and some vocals, this album was recorded live by a real-deal, bad-ass rock n roll band. Excited to announce the man himself, Mr. Larry g(EE) [pronounced “G”) is releasing his debut EP, titled “Weekends” this December 9, 2011 at The Prophet Bar in historic Deep Ellum. I will be joining Larry up on stage as I’m sure we’ll put on a show that will both dazzle and rattle the membranes. Special guest, Kirby Brown will be joining the menagerie of sounds and goodtimes. (Pick up his CD, “Child of Calamity” if you have not already).
Come out, and pick up a CD while you’re out there. Sure to be lots of noise around these tunes, be one of the first to own them.
