“Today marks the iTunes release of Dovetail‘s debut album, Mount Karma. With vibe to spare, the Dallas hippie-rockers are offering twelve tracks or classic rock and pop influenced sunshine.
Mount Karma was produced by Dallas guru Beau Bedford, a man who’s been writing/performing/engineering an impressive army of big bluesy pop and 100-proof rock & roll with the level-perfect mix of soul, grit, and spit-shine. Alongside Dovetail, Mr. Bedford is responsible for the most recent efforts of Larry g(EE), The Roomsounds, and Kirby Brown–all of them, records insisting to be turned up to ’11.”

In January 2010, after Kirby Brown’s Child of Calamity, I began working on my second full length album with the brilliant Dovetail. Fronted by Philip Creamer’s mind-blowing voice, the band is full of writers and geniuses alike. Needless to say, this was the easiest decision ever to work with a band. Throughout the next two years, together we found Dovetail’s sound. Mount Karma represents not just the band’s journey, but also my own self-discovery of how notes, sonics, and voices fit together in my own unique way. From the most eloquent studios, to bathrooms, to recording outdoors, the album was tracked anywhere we could find solace and/or a vibe. Come take the journey to Mount Karma! The Roomsounds released their debut full length “We’re #1″ on Friday at the Prophet Bar to a packed house. It was an amazing time getting to track the boys from the Northeast. After hearing Ryan’s songwriting, and the band’s bombastic punk inspired Americana music, I couldn’t help myself but welcome them to the great state of Texas and capture their sound.
This album marked the first time I set up a full band and tracked live. Aside from a few guitar overdubs and some vocals, this album was recorded live by a real-deal, bad-ass rock n roll band. Ladies and Gentlemen, The Roomsounds. Click the link below to listen to “Young & Reckless”. Photo courtesy of Will Bolton www.wbolton.com

Also, check out to hear Barn Burner, and the Local EDGE has been playing Kinks on Sunday nights.
Come out, and pick up a CD while you’re out there. Sure to be lots of noise around these tunes, be one of the first to own them.
